Iran Carpet Museum
Iran Carpet Museum located in North Kargar street in Tehran, inaugurated on 1977 with the purpose of research in carpet history and quality of art and industry of carpet in Iran.
Iran Carpet Museum includes other products such as rug.
The architect of this museum is Abdol Aziz Farmanfarmayan. The building of the Carpet Museum is very eye catching with exterior view designed as a carpet loom. It contains two halls for displaying varies kinds of handmade carpets and rugs. The first floor is for permanent exhibition of 150 carpets and the second floor is for temporary expositions.
The collection of the most precious samples of Iranian carpets from 5 centuries ago up to now from different origins like Kashan, Isfahan, Kerman, Tabriz, Khorasan and Kordestan are displayed in Iran Carpet Museum and they are the richest research source for art lovers and researchers.
There are 3500 books in Persian, Arabic, French, English and German languages in the library of the Carpet Museum in this field.
